I absolutely love New York City – it is the ultimate city for me and having my sister, Bailey, there is the lovely cherry on the top. Guy and I were so excited when we arrived that all effects of sleep deprivation faded and we were raring to go – luckily since Bailey is a fabulous yet relentless tour guide. Seeing any place with someone who lives there is great and for us it was especially so since it meant that after 3 months of nonstop decision making we were in someone else’s hands even if it meant we had to run to keep up at times!

It was a whirlwind 5 days of fun and excitement. From brunches in the East Village (including truffle egg toast that delivers on its menu promise to change your life!) and bike rides along the Hudson River to the rocking Kaiser Chiefs concert and our first meal at the divine Spotted Pig we had a ball. Once again I was blown away by the variety of the city – gorgeous shops that almost had me weeping for want of an endless budget, beautiful buildings and parks, what must be the best restaurants in the world and art too plentiful to see in a lifetime not to mention the beautiful people.

In a city that never sleeps neither did we – the energy of the city is infectious – and we’re thrilled to have a few more days there just before flying home in December.
